Long time ago I wanted to make a little jacket for my niece and I finally got down to the work done. I decided that it was time to stop doing just knitted caps and make a leap to clothing. So I chose a color and wool liked and got a very simple pattern to which I gave my personal touch. The interesting thing is that this pattern is woven continuous and so you just have to sew the sides. The result was a cute little jacket. It was named like my niece “BEA”
Hace mucho tiempo que quería hacer una chaquetita para mi sobrina y por fin me puse manos a la obra. Decidí que ya era hora de dejar de hacer solo gorros de punto y de dar el salto a las prendas de vestir. Así que elegí un color, lana que me gustase y conseguí un patrón muy sencillo al cual le di mi toque personal. Lo interesante de este patrón es que se teje todo de continuo y así solo tienes que coser los laterales. El resultado fue esta mona chaquetita que he puesto de nombre como su dueña “BEA”
Knitting Needle Size: 3,5 mm, Circular Knitting Needles
Yarn: 150 gr. Green wool superwash and 20 gr. raw white wool superwash
Used Stitches: Stocking stitch, ribbing 2/2 and garter stitch.
We start from the front right and cast on 36 stitches (13 cm.) with the knitting on method. Then cast on other 36 stitches for the front left. Weaving in stocking stitch to have 17 cm. Work 4 rows in ribbing 2/2, then weaving in garter stitch to have 18 cm.
Now increase in the left side of the Front Right alt 2 rows: 5 times k7. 2 times k5. Total stitches when you ended 81.
Follow weaving in garter stitch to have 25 cm. Now bind off in the right side alt 2 rows: 1 time k7, 1 time k2, 4 times k1. Alt 4 rows: 2 times k1 = 66 stitches. Follow to have 29 cm. and in this moment we increase in the right side 1 time k3.
Then follow 1 row = 69 stitches. Working the same form the Front Left. When you ended the front left increase 24 stitches and continue with the stitches of the front right.
Now we working the jacket back, totaly stitches 162.
Follow weaving in garter stitch to have 37 cm. Bind off to the two side alt 2 rows: 2 times k5, 5 times k7. Totaly stitches 72, follow weaving to have 40 cm. Work 4 rows in ribbing 2/2, then weaving in garter stitch to have 56 cm. Bind off all the stitches.
Neck: working in crochet. We need a hook 3,5 mm.
